What to Expect
Initial Visit
We will meet with you and your loved ones at your home. We spend this time explaining what we can help with as well as
-
learning about any relevant medical conditions
-
listening to potential challenges - for example medicine isn't being taken or personal hygiene isn't a regular occurrence
-
determine the level of care that is needed - will we need advanced medical care, just basic assistance or both?
-
decide on a regular schedule - anywhere from 4 hours a week to 24/7 care
-
finalize hourly rate for services
Build Your Team
Once we have all of the details we will begin building your care team. Your schedule will determine the size of your team, but our goal is to have a small, regular, and reliable team of caregivers providing care. You will have a designated Client Manager as your point of contact
-
someone from our office will always answer the phone, even after hours
-
if you don't feel comfortable with a caregiver we will not send them back, and our caregivers can do the same - we want everyone to be comfortable
Your First Shift
We know it's uncomfortable to allow new people into your home. We have a very thorough hiring process and approach hiring as "would we feel comfortable bringing this person into our own homes, or our parents homes, or our grandparents homes" If you'd like to learn more about our hiring process please click here.
-
your client manager will follow up after your first shift with new team members to make sure everything went well - if it didn't we won't send them back and we will make necessary adjustments to your team
Ongoing Care
Your Client Manager will be in regular contact with you, at least every 3 months to assess your team's performance. We ask questions about caregiver's cell phone usage, ability to follow directions, concern for safety, and make sure things are going smoothly. You can make changes to your schedule or level of care at any time. Things can change quickly and we understand that flexibility is necessary.
